The central government’s National Career Service (NCS) portal which provides a variety of career-related services has more than 10 lakh vacancies on offer, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameshwar Teli mentioned in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.As per the data available till December 18, 2023, there are over 10.45 lakh active vacancies on the NCS portal. Notably, the portal mobilised 34,81,944 vacancies and 8,19,827 registered employers in 2022-2023. Further, the platform provided 13,46,765 job offers in 2021-22.

Aimed at connecting the opportunities with the aspirating job seekers, the ICT-based portal facilitates the registration of job seekers, job providers, skill providers, and career counselors, among others.

As of December 2022, there are 2.76 crore jobseekers registered on the portal, of which 1.15 crore (42%) are youth belonging to the tier 2 and tier 3 cities of the country.
