Goa’s Zuari Bridge becomes fully operational! PM Modi extends congratulations, Gadkari reviews progress of several infra projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday on the Zuari Bridge becoming fully operational. While extending his wishes he said that the bridge will serve to push tourism and commerce by enhancing connectivity.
In his post on X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi said, “Congratulations to the people of Goa on the Zuari Bridge being fully operational! This key project will improve connectivity between northern and southern Goa thus boosting tourism and commerce in the times to come.”

Goa soaring to new heights
The Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant shared a video on the Zurai Bridge on X, saying, “From picturesque beaches to state-of-the-art highways, Goa soars to new heights.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday reviewed the progress of several infrastructure projects in Goa. He chaired a meeting which was attended by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, several MLAs and senior state government officials.

A senior official said that it was decided a major link road to Manohar International Airport at Mopa will be completed by April 2024. Besides this, the work on the six-lane elevated corridor at Porvorim will begin in January. Gadkari laid the foundation stone for the project on Friday.
“The road connecting the highway to Mormugao Port in Vasco town would be completed by April next year. The new bridge across Zuari river in Borim village has been granted tentative approval by National Highway Authority of India,” he added.
Gadkari also reviewed the appointment of a consultant to address congestion on the Goa section of the Mumbai-Kanyakumari and Goa-Hyderabad highways by implementing a ‘Ring Road.’
Furthermore, it was decided in the meeting that no toll will be imposed on internal roads in Goa, the official said.
