Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Indian Railways says redeveloped Vidyasagar Railway Station will feature ‘modernised amenities’; shares pictures
The transformation of the Vidyasagar Railway Station in Jharkhand is part of the ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ initiated by the Indian government. This initiative is geared towards revitalizing 1,309 railway stations across India, ushering in a new era of vibrancy and transformation.
On Wednesday, the Indian Railways took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a glimpse of the progress of the redevelopment project at the Vidyasagar Railway Station. Captioning the post, the ministry wrote, “Vidyasagar Railway Station in Jharkhand is sprinting towards a magnificent makeover. Upon Completion, It will feature modernised amenities significantly upgrading passenger comfort and convenience.”

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 6, 2023. It was launched to facilitate the development of railway stations across India. Currently, 1309 stations, as listed, have been earmarked for enhancement under this program.
As per a press release by the government, 57 railway stations in Jharkhand have been identified under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The state will Balsiring, Bano, Barkakana, Basukinath, Bhaga , Bokaro Steel City , Chaibasa, Chakradharpur, Chandil , Chandrapura, Daltonganj, Gangaghat, Garhwa Road, Garhwa Town, Ghatsila, Giridih, Jamtara, Japla, Jasidih, Katrasgarh, Koderma, Kumardhubi, Latehar, Lohardaga, Madhupur, Manoharpur, Muhammadganj, Muri, Parasnath, Piska, Rajkharswan, Rajmahal, Ramgarh Cant, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Sankarpur, Silli, Sini, Tatanagar, Tatisilwai and Vidyasagar railway stations undergo redevelopment, among others.
